What's new

Plain-words list of user-visible changes, newest first. If something here doesn't match what you see, ask your account owner.

2026-10-22

  • Default domain in Settings: if you can switch between domains, choose the one the mailbox list opens on. "All domains" is still one tap away in the domain menu.

2026-10-21

  • The raw internal message ID that used to show under "Message" at the top of an open message is gone — it was only ever a database detail, never something you'd need.
  • Sending a reply, forward or new message now shows "Sent to …" or "Not sent: …" right at the top of the screen, and the Send button is greyed out while it's working so tapping it twice can't send the same message twice.
  • Fixed: finding a teammate with "Find a user" who was also already showing in your People list could make Save on one of those two cards silently update the other one instead of the card you were looking at.
  • You can now rename or delete a mailbox's own custom folders yourself — anyone with access to a mailbox, not only your account owner or domain manager from the admin panel. Open the ⋮ next to a folder in the folder list (sidebar on a wider screen, folder switcher on a phone) for Save (after editing its name) or Delete folder. Deleting a folder never deletes its messages — they move back to Inbox or Sent. See Folders, filters & auto-reply.
  • A broken or missing link, or an error on the server, now shows a plain page with a way back (Sign in, Go home, or Help) instead of a raw, unstyled error page.
  • Fixed: the empty-list message always said "Inbox is empty" no matter which folder you were actually viewing — most noticeable after restoring the last message out of Trash, which now correctly says the Trash you're looking at is empty.
  • Junk folder: mail SendGrid scores as likely spam now goes to a new Junk folder instead of Inbox, with no push notification. Select Not junk (Inbox) to move a message back. See Folders, filters & auto-reply.
  • Phone header fixed: Compose, Admin Panel and sign out no longer get clipped off the edge of the screen on a phone — secondary actions (search, notifications, settings, filters) moved into a ⋮ menu next to Compose.
  • Search works on a phone now — "Search all mail" used to only show up on a wide screen.
  • The move/delete (⋮) menu never opens off-screen any more — on a phone it opens as a sheet from the bottom; on a desktop it stays inside the visible page.
  • Adding a domain no longer snaps back to the plain domains list a moment after you add it, and an error now keeps the form and what you typed instead of wiping the screen.
  • Bigger attachments: the compose/reply/forward limit is 25 MB total (was 10 MB).
  • Email on record, made visible: a team member's card now says plainly when there's no email on record for them, so "Forgot password?" can't help them yet. A domain manager can now set this for a team member whose access is entirely within domains they manage. Creating a new user now asks for an email up front (optional).
  • Fixed help pages that no longer matched what the app does: who can create or rotate a mailbox's API key (a domain manager can, not only the account owner), who creates new accounts (only the account owner), and the password minimum (10 characters everywhere, matching the code — including creating a user and resetting someone's password directly, which now enforce it).
  • Notifications and Reading mail now have a help link on the screen each one explains.
  • Starring or restoring a message from inside that open message now updates its own buttons, instead of only the (hidden, on a phone) list behind it; restoring the same message twice no longer sends it to Inbox instead of back where it was.
  • The user editor's domain-access cards only show domains a person already has some access on, plus a "Find a user" search and an "Add access on another domain" picker, instead of one card per domain on the whole instance. A domain manager's Users & access list itself now only shows people who already have access on a domain they manage, instead of everyone on the instance.
  • A domain-access change's confirmation message no longer disappears about a second after you see it.
  • The filter list shows a plain label for each filter's action ("Mark read") instead of its internal name ("mark_read").
  • Attachment sizes of 1 MB or more are now shown in MB instead of KB.
  • The setup wizard's first step says the truth about whether this instance actually has a SendGrid key configured, instead of always claiming it does.
  • The API keys help page is no longer listed in the help sidebar everyone sees when reading a help page — it's still linked from the admin pages (for setting up an integration) and from the help index's "For account owners and domain managers" section, which ordinary team members can skip.
  • Every time shown to you now uses your own time zone instead of one zone for the whole instance: it's picked up from your browser automatically the first time you sign in on it, or you can set it yourself under Settings.

2026-10-20

  • Self-service password reset: a "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in page emails a reset link (if there's an email on record) that works once, for an hour.
  • This help section, readable without signing in.
  • Domain manager role: someone can be given Can manage on one domain — create and delete its mailboxes, set mailbox signatures, lock its mailbox list, and manage other people's access on that domain — without being a full account owner.
  • Mailbox delete is recoverable for 7 days, with a Download a mailbox export (a .zip of .eml files) available any time.
  • Trash shows how long it keeps deleted mail before it's gone for good.
  • Filter and auto-reply send failures are now shown on the Filters page instead of failing silently.
  • JSON and HTMX errors now show the real message instead of a generic "something went wrong".
  • Inbox API keys are now stored hashed; the bootstrap admin password is no longer written to the log.
